Welcome Back!

Welcome back!  We hope you had a fun filled summer and are ready to sculpt some clay.  We are.

First I would like to welcome Fritzie Sampani to the Clay Docent Committee.  We are excited to have her join us.

Also we would like to say "Good Luck" to our long time Clay Docent co-Chair, Hedieh Yaghmai-Steele.  Hedieh has moved to another school district.  We've enjoyed working with her and will miss her greatly.

So now back to business.  We will be hosting 3 Open House Workshops where you will be trained on the 3 sculpting techniques (slab, pinch and coil) along with a few glazing techniques.  We have yet to set the dates of the workshops, so please check back.  As soon as we schedule the workshops, we will post them here and in the weekly school bulletin.

If you have any questions, please email us at BHClayDocent@yahoo.com.

Thank You!

Clay Clean-up
Thank you to all the parent volunteers who helped in the classrooms throughout the school year.  Without you the Clay Docent Program would not be a success.

A big "Thank You" to the parent volunteers who came on Monday, May 21st, and helped with the end of year clean-up.  I think we got everything done in record time.  The Clay Docent Committee really appreciates all your help.

Just a reminder, if you made pieces in any of our workshops and have not picked them up yet, you can still pick them up in the kiln room.

Clay Clean-up Rescheduled

We've had a change in plans.  The Science Lab is no longer available on Monday, May 14, due to STAR testing make-ups.  So we've had to move the clay clean-up to the following Monday, May 21, from 8-11:30am.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to folks who have graciously agreed to help us on the 14th.  We are now in search of 8 people to help us on the 21st of May.  If you are available (even for an hour :-) we are hoping you can join us.
